Please find enclosed herewith Railway Board’s Letter No.2021/E(LL)/NPWE/1 dated 01-03-2021 and Secretary, Ministry of Women & Child Development (W&CD)’s DO letter  No.WE/IC-23/4/2020-WD/IC dated 29-01-2021 with regard to celebration of International Women’s Day (IWD), 2021 on 8th March, 2021. This Day is used as an occasion to reflect and amplify on various issues that come in the way of women’s emancipation and hinder realization of gender equality.

 

In this regard, all Departments, Divisions, Workshops, Headquarter and all associated field Units of N F Railway are requested to celebrate this Day with full enthusiasm that it deserves and to plan and organize events relating to women-empowerment.

 

In view of the above, action taken report on the initiatives and activities undertaken alongwith photographs may kindly be sent to this office latest by 08-03-2021 through email at apomppnitnfr@gmail.com so that a consolidated report of the same may be forwarded to Railway Board and also for publishing/uploading on the website of N F Railway specially created for N F Railway Women Employees - https://womenemployees.nfreis.org/.

A Run on International Women's Day 2020 Campaign held on 7th March, 2020 at Headquarter

A Run onInternational Women's Day 2020 Campaign held on 7th March, 2020 at 6.30 am.
 Starting point - N F Railway HQ to Railway Stadium,  Maligaon





On 7th March, 2020, a run on International Women’s Day campaign was organized on the theme “#EachforEqual in the morning at 06:30 am to 08:00 am from Headquarter Office to N F Railway Stadium, Maligaon. Run was flagged of from Headquarter by PCPO/NFR and CPO/Admn/NFR. The run was followed by a tug-of-war even conducted among the women and male Railway officials at NFR Stadium, Maligaon. Railway Officials both men and women and Scouts & Guides have participated in the run.

On 6th March, 2020, a Nukkad Natak/Street play was performed by the Railway employees on the theme “#EachforEqual- An equal World is an enabled World at Headquarter Complex, Guwahati Railway Station & Kamakhya Railway Station.

On 5th March, 2020, a workshop on self-defense for women officials was conducted in the Staff Canteen of Headquarter Complex, Maligaon at 15:30 hrs. to 17:30 hrs. RPF lady Constables demonstrated different self-defense techniques to be used by women in case of any problems faced anywhere. PCPO/NFR and PCSC/NFR also attended the workshop. Railway Officials both men and women and Scouts & Guides were present in the event.

On 4th March, 2020, a musical event was organized in the Staff Canteen of Headquarter Complex, Maligaon at 15:30 hrs. to 17:30 hrs. for the women officials of Headquarter. Many women employees participated in the event by performing solo songs. An antakshari competition was also conducted among the women officials by creating four groups. Railway Women Officials and Scouts & Guides were present in the event.

On 3rd March, 2020, a debate on “New Challenges for Women Officials at Work Place” was organized in PFA’s Conference Room at 15:30 hrs. to 17:30 hrs. Prof. Polly Vauquline, Head of the Department, Women’s Studies, Gauhati University, Guwahati was invited as guest speaker in the debate to highlight on the topic and address the women officials. Ms. Utpalparna Hazarika, PCOM/NFR, Smt. Leena Sarma, CCM/FM/NFR and  Smt. Shruti Agnihotri, FA&CAO/WST/NFR also participated in the debate and share their experiences and new challenges for women officials at workplace. Shri Sasanka Sarmah, CPO/Gaz./NFR also addressed the gathering. The debate concluded with an interactive session with the women officials participated in the debate.

     On 2nd March, 2020, a Workshop on “Stress free life, Meditation & Mindfulness” for women officials was organized at Auditorium of Central Hospital, Maligaon at 16:00 hrs. to 17:30 hrs. The workshop was conducted by B. K. Sister Sanhita, Rajyoga Teacher, Brahma Kumaris, Guwahati and Dr. Anuradha Bhattacharya, State Teacher Coordinator, Assam, Art of Living assisted by Smt. Sumita Saiba, Teacher, Art of Living.  Techniques for performing meditation and yoga to experience a stress free life and mindfulness was conducted in the workshop. Railway women officials, Doctors, Nurses  & Scouts & Guides were among the participants.

On 1st March, 2020, a Seminar on “Women’s Health & Wellbeing” was organized for the Women Railway Employees at Auditorium of Central Hospital, Maligaon at 16:00 hrs to17:30 hrs.. Issues of women’s health and well-being was discussed in the Seminar by different speakers from the medical field viz. Dr. Anuradha Goswami (Sr. Consultant(O&G) under MD/CH/Maligaon, Smt. Kasturi Dutta, Chief Nursing Superintendent under MD/CH/Maligaon, Dr. Tanu Rekha Hazarika , DMO/Medicine under MD/CH/Maligaon, Dr. Sumitra Homagain, ACDS under MD/CH/Maligaon, Dr. Krishna B. Pegoo, Sr.DMO/Medicine under MD/CH/Maligaon, followed by interactive session with other doctors and participants. Shri P. Kishore Babu, CPO/Admn./NFR and Shri Deepak Peter Gabriel, PCPO/NFR also addressed the gathering. Railway officials, Doctors, Nurses & Scouts & Guides were among the participants.




Campaign Events on the Occassion of Internation Women's Day 2020 at NFR Headquarter

CELEBRATION OF 10 DAY’S CAMPAIGN ON
INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY-2020 
W.E.F. 01-03-2020 TO 10-03-2020


       This year, at international level and national level it has been decided to introduce a 10 day’s Campaign on International Women’s Day from 1st March to 10th March, 2020. Indian Railway has also decided to undertake the same campaign all over Indian Railways for the Railway Women Officials during the period from 1st March to 10th March, 2020 while celebrating International Women’s Day.

Theme of the Campaign is  - #EachforEqual

An equal world is an enabled world.
Individually, we're all responsible for our own thoughts and actions - all day, every day.
We can actively choose to challenge stereotypes, fight bias, broaden perceptions, improve situations and celebrate women's achievements.
Collectively, each one of us can help create a gender equal world.
Let's all be #EachforEqual.

So, put your arms out front and STRIKE THE #EachforEqual POSE to motivate others and to make International Women's Day YOUR day.

Objectives of the campaign is -
1. To highlight the steps taken by Indian Railways to provide exclusive facilities to the women passengers.
2. To highlight the steps taken by Indian Railways for the empowerment of women.
3.  Enhancing role of Women in all fields of Indian Railways- Stations managed exclusively by women, Loco Pilots, Track/OHE/Signal/C&W Maintenance etc.

      During this campaign period, Railway Board have directed to organize different activities involving all Railway Women Officials at different fields, Units, Divisions, and HQ to spread awareness about women empowerment, women’s rights, and gender equality.

     N. F. Railway will undertake the International Women’s Day Campaign for 10 days from 1st March, 2020 onwards by organizing different activities on each day.
